Hans Peterson Bio

Hans Peterson - singer/songwriter
Born and raised in an Alaskan village only accessible by barge or airplane, Hans Peterson has been performing since he got a hold of his grandpa’s ukulele at age 6. With a soothing voice like John Denver, driving acoustic guitar, and creative piano playing, Hans draws an audience in with honest story telling in his songs.

Hans Peterson now lives halfway between Mankato and Minneapolis, Minnesota on his Mother-in-law’s former dairy farm. Located in Belle Plaine Township, Hans and Heidi are feeding and watering their two boys and over 10,000 trees they have planted there. When he is not weeding the garden or chasing sheep, he teaches music and continues to tour, record, sing, and get others singing.

His most recent album, SOMETHING SO BEAUTIFUL (2018), was recorded with his son Nelson Morlock, and was successfully crowd-funded at Kickstarter.com. This collection features rockin' fiddle tunes, creative originals and clever covers in this debut father & son full length CD.

Hans Peterson - song leader in faith-based setting
Born and raised in Alaska, Hans came to the Midwest to attend Luther College. Since graduation he worked as a youth director/worship leader, lived with homeless men in a Catholic Worker House, received a master’s degree from United Seminary, and was a full-time musician for 25 years. As a songleader/songwriter he still ventures out solo and with the Dakota Road band, playing piano and acoustic guitar. However, he is back in seminary full time and an intern pastor at Hope Lutheran in Jordan, MN. Home is Belle Plaine township where he lives with his spouse, Heidi, on her family's farm with their two boys. If not writing a paper or a sermon, he might be found weeding the garden, pruning apple trees, eating ice cream or playing ping pong with his son. In all that he does, Hans prays and works for a world where all creation is seen as sacred.
